Candy Paint Job Tech: Here’s How To Do Amazing Candy Panel Paint. The Serape Mexican Blanket Paint Job.

Candy Paint Job Tech: Here’s How To Do Amazing Candy Panel Paint. The Serape Mexican Blanket Paint Job.

Custom panel paint, candies, flake, and the like are often found on custom motorcycles, lowriders, and customs, and regardless of whether it is your favorite or not, and regardless of the color and style, everyone stares and appreciates what must have went into painting something like that. The truth about paint jobs like that is the time and effort that goes into them is mostly in the layout and masking of the thing. With so many layers and colors and graphics involved it can often take a hundred times longer to mask it than it takes to spray it. But there is a lot of skill that goes into spraying candies, pearls, and heavy flake. But how exactly does it really happen?

Well lucky for you, Time Warp Custom Paint is going to show us. This is a tutorial if you will and one that you can use to inspire you to get out and paint something yourself. Now I have to think that with a few spray cans and some time you could practice certain elements of this before you ever got into the good stuff, but regardless I think this could be something fun and it makes me want to try it out. I wonder if doing something like this on an old hood would be cool for the inside of the shop. Hmmmmm

2022 BMW M3 & M4 Traction Control In Action

Grip like this can be addictive!

Growing up before ABS was fun. Having to learn threshold braking was a rite of passage, and you could still buy new cars without a sway bar. Suspension technology has come a long way since then, so let’s watch the 2022 BMW M3 & M4 traction control in action.

Most sports cars offer the ability to fine-tune the steering and suspension responses, and if you haven’t experienced M Traction Control you are truly missing out. It has 10 settings from barely there to no fun at all. With each click, you will have less rotation through the corners, so its a fun way to get the very best from your tires. One of the best drivers I ever met once said: “If you don’t drive hard enough to invoke traction control, you aren’t driving” so tell us your best and worst traction control stories in the comments below.

Finnegan Built A Paint Booth In His Driveway And Painted His C10! I’M SO JEALOUS!!!

Finnegan Built A Paint Booth In His Driveway And Painted His C10! I’M SO JEALOUS!!!

I’ve been wanting to build my own paint booth and paint a car for years, and I have a car that is in serious need of a color change and some fresh paint so when I saw this latest video from Finnegan I was both jealous and inspired. Yes, you can be both. You’ll see that Finnegan and Newbern make this paint booth with regular stuff. There is nothing fancy and unobtainable here. With that said, my plans call for a little bit different main structure than he uses but otherwise they are nearly identical. If you’d like to see us paint a car in a home built paint booth, then let me know and we’ll get on it.

What you’ll dig about this video is the fact that, as usual, these two walk us through the thought process, the build process, any tough decisions, and finally spraying paint on the body. I hope this is the start of Finnegan painting more stuff in his driveway, because I think it would be pretty entertaining. For some reason I feel like they should hand Cotten the paint gun and let him go to town. He’s an artist after all, or so he says.

Pontiac Power Video: 535ci Of Butler Performance Built Blower Motors Cranks Out More Than 800hp!

Pontiac Power Video: 535ci Of Butler Performance Built Blower Motors Cranks Out More Than 800hp!

This is the cure for the common LS engine. You are going to watch an awesome 535ci, Butler Performance built Pontiac engine whine and grunt out more than 800hp and more than 850 lb/ft of torque on the dyno. The insane thing is that the torque peak is made at 3,8000 RPM according to the Butler guys so that would make this thing an awesome street engine in every way. It will mangle tires from here to eternity. We have no idea what model of Pontiac this engine was headed for but we can only guess it is a GTO of some form or fashion. We’d love to see it in a Bonneville or Catalina but we likes ’em big. That’s just our thing.

Note the fact that this thing has a damned AC compressor hooked to it as well. That means whoever is driving around with this monster under the hood is also going to be doing it in comfort. How cool is that?! Far be it from us to suggest modifying he awesome work done by Butler Performance but if one wanted to make some more horsepower in a pretty quick fashion they could swap out the wagon-wheel sized top pulley on the blower, load the thing up with good gas, and really let it eat. Dumb for a street engine but interesting for the occasional trip to the strip, right?

We love the fact that people still crave engines like this and the fact that Butler Performanc is still a thriving performance business even a decade after Pontiac ceased being a thing. Who needs an LS engine, right?

Horsepower On The Waves: This Film Showing The 1956 Gold Cup Hydroplane Race Is Awesome – Aircraft Engines Galore

Horsepower On The Waves: This Film Showing The 1956 Gold Cup Hydroplane Race Is Awesome – Aircraft Engines Galore

Boat racing has always been the realm of big money and when we say “always” we mean ALWAYS. Think about the days of Gar Wood hammering international competition in the 1920s and then the evolution from there to where we are even today. Off-shore and hydroplane racing are huge money endeavors which are a fantastic spectacle. Hell, even drag boat racing will sink a decent wallet in no time flat but the allure of competition on the water has drawn and continues to draw the passion, the money, and the horsepower, to liquid race tracks all over the world.

So the Gold Cup was THE race to win in hydroplane racing during the era when this video was made. The boats themselves are amazing hot rods. Made of wood and powered by huge aircraft engines, they are violent and blazingly fast. You’ll see a Rolls-Royce mill, Allisons for days, and they all have this just killer look that make them some of the most visually stunning racing machines of their era.

While we have seen some of these old hydros sitting in museums and stuff, maybe occasionally idled around in the water, we had never seen them actually racing hull to hull before this video. How these drivers saw anything or didn’t have their guts shaken out of their throats over the course of the race is stunning. Watch the boats bounce, heave, and generally pulverize themselves on the water. This is wild!

Great horsepower, great history, and some of the coolest boats ever built.

Speed Secrets: Does Size Really Matter? How Much? Dyno Testing A 5.3 vs 6.0 Stock, Modified, And Stroked To See How Much Cubes Really Matter

Speed Secrets: Does Size Really Matter? How Much? Dyno Testing A 5.3 vs 6.0 Stock, Modified, And Stroked To See How Much Cubes Really Matter

Bigger is always better right?  Well maybe not. Or maybe so. Hmmm, is the jury out? Maybe. In todays horsepower video Richard pits a 5.3 vs a 6.0 to see which one is best stock, modified and then when equipped with a stroker kit. Will the stroked 5.3, at 383 cubic inches be as good as the 408 made from the 6.0? I can tell you that I have been around for tests of both combinations and they are impressive. I love a stroked 5.3 combo, and have made well over 1,000 horsepower with one with a little street cam and some boost. And all without doing anything that would be considered radical or too crazy for a street car. But does that make it better than the 6.0 is in this battle? Watch and see.

Here is the video description from Richard.

JUNKYARD LS COMPARISON-5.3L & 6.0L-STOCK. MOD & STROKER! HOW MUCH POWER DOES A STOCK 5.3L OR 6.0L MAKE? WHAT ABOUT WITH A FEW MODS LIKE PORTED HEADS, CAMS AND INTAKE? WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU STROKE AND POKE A 5.3L OUT TO 383 CUBIC INCHES? HOW ABOUT WHEN YOU DO THE SAME TO A 6.0L AND PRODUCE A 408 STROKER? HOW MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE DOES THE ADDED CUBIC INCHES REALLY MAKE? IS BIGGER REALLY THAT MUCH BETTER?

Chevrolet Corvette C8 Documentary Reveals Engineering Insights

When looking back at the first Corvette Stingray for sale, development was handled by one man, Zora Duntov. Now that GM is finally going up against the world’s best mid-engined cars, a new Chevrolet Corvette C8 documentary reveals engineering insights.

[embedded content]

Part 1 of Revolution dealt with design, learning how to fit a V8 behind the cockpit while making it look stunning. Last night Part 2 was uploaded with a look at relentless testing at the Nürburgring. Being the most intelligent Corvette to-date, issues relating to traction control also affect the shifting logic of the dual-clutch transmission and response of the electric power steering. There is no doubt that hotter versions of new Corvettes are being tested also, but the editors did a great job at hiding them. Click the button to find one for yourself and stay with us for all your Stingray updates.

Rebeldryver Walks Us Through Another Massive Wrecking Yard Full Of Classic Iron In Nebraska

Rebeldryver Walks Us Through Another Massive Wrecking Yard Full Of Classic Iron In Nebraska

Scott Liggett, aka Rebeldryver, is a longtime BANGshifter from way way way back, and a guy that always has a line on some cool car or another. He’s a resident of the wonderful state of Nebraska and knows where every salvage or wrecking yard is, along with every dilapidated car lot that still has something of interest parked on it. Nobody I know spends more time wandering through wrecking yards, and that means he is always coming home with great parts. I can tell you first hand that I have a few boxes in my garage full of much needed parts that came from Scott’s hunting, and I love him for it. A few months ago he started posting up a few videos of some of his adventures and this week he’s visited Andersen’s Self Service Wrecking in Kearney Nebraska to show us some of the bitchin stuff they’ve got hiding in the lot.

Before you get all fired up to head out with the trailer, ready to buy some of these cool rides, know that NONE of them are for sale whole. These are available for parts only. ONLY PARTS, and while that is disappointing on the one hand, it is also kinda cool because the parts from these abandoned hulks can save dozens of cool projects each, and that is what matters.

This is part one of two from this trip, so check it out and let us know what you think. Also, give a LIKE to the video and subscribe to Scott’s channel if you want to see more of this. We sure do!

Classic YouTube: Watch As This VW Golf Monsters Hillclimbs At Full Chat!

Classic YouTube: Watch As This VW Golf Monsters Hillclimbs At Full Chat!

If there is one truth to racing, it’s that you never half-ass anything you do. If you can’t be bothered to give it your all, don’t bother showing up. That goes for any form of racing out there. But what does 100% look like? Full-on maximum attack, where you wonder if insanity has overridden the survival instinct, that’s what. It’s the difference between pedaling out of a bad situation on the strip versus hanging the hell on and crossing the stripe a tenth faster. It’s moderating a trail versus flying over every fourth little incline to keep up momentum in a rally. And in a hillclimb…well, here’s your lesson’s subject of the day. The driver is Daniel Wittwer, and his early VW Golf is the car. The Golf is only pushing out about 25o horsepower from a 16V 2.0L four, but you’d swear that there’s more the way that Wittwer is pushing this little VW. We are pretty sure that he used the Armco barrier as a ricochet device, bouncing the car back onto the asphalt. We’re almost proof-positive that at one point he was two tires off on the shoulder besides one glaringly obvious moment. We are pretty sure that the rear tires are worn a quarter less than the fronts, given how much hang time they got in corners. And the cover photo speaks for itself, doesn’t it? Maybe not as much as Wittwer’s celebration after the run…we’d be happy to be alive, too, after a hell ride like that!
