Fall Carlisle Swap Meet Photos: Look At All This Rad Stuff We Want To Buy!

Fall Carlisle Swap Meet Photos: Look At All This Rad Stuff We Want To Buy!

As if Grippo’s photos from the AACA Hershey Fall Meet aren’t enough, he also went to Carlisle and shot photos to share with all of you! So big thanks to our man Joe, who has been contributing to us for years now and we so appreciate it.

(Words and Photos by Joe Grippo) October has arrived and that means one thing….no, not pumpkin spice, or Halloween, it’s Swap Meet season, and here at the Pennsylvania BangShift satellite offices, the two biggies are the Fall Carlisle and the massive AACA Hershey Fall Meet. Carlisle is up first followed by Hershey the following week, so if you can’t find it in central Pa over those two weeks, it probably doesn’t exist.

The Fall Carlisle Swap Meet tends to skew more toward the 50’s, 60’s and muscle car era but with a healthy and growing trend of late 70’s and 80’s cars and parts starting to filter into the vast number of swap spaces. Lots of the usual suspect parts and project cars are available, ya’ know, Camaros, Mustangs, Chevelle’s, Barracudas, Corvettes, Challengers, and the like. I dig checking out the project cars and odd ball parts that always seem present at Carlisle. Unfortunately, in the last few years I also find myself marveling at the prices of stuff being offered up. I can’t help but to wonder where we as a hobby are heading, with really rusty cars with really high asking prices. The barrier of entry for some of these things are cost prohibitive when compared to the cost of getting them even remotely roadworthy. But, hey, sometimes cost and value just get tossed aside if you just must have that particular ride. Watch those emotional purchases.

Check out https://www.carlisleevents.com/ for the details.
Enough reading, get into the galleries and see what we saw at the 2021 Fall Carlisle Swap Meet…

Motion Raceworks Rocky Mountain Race Week Daily Coverage: Day One Action From Thunder Valley

Motion Raceworks Rocky Mountain Race Week Daily Coverage: Day One Action From Thunder Valley

Rocky Mountain Race Week is in the books, and we were traveling the route with all these folks so we could bring you the FREE livestream that we had going all week long. It was a week full of fun, adventures, carnage, and more, but even if you were there you wouldn’t have been able to see it all. There is that much going on! But thanks to the folks at Motion Raceworks we’ve got more cool video coverage from the entire week and we’re going to share it all with you one day at a time. They were on-site with their parts merch trailer and were helping people out with great stuff all week long. This is the first video from Day One at Thunder Valley in Noble Oklahoma, which means everyone is racing and there is no on road carnage or anything yet. This is the day where everyone thinks everything is great and that they can win this whole thing. Spirits are high. At least until the racing gets going.

Why? Because some of these poor folks are going to tear their stuff up before they ever get to leave the first track. The good news is that they have all night to work on them because we don’t leave for the next track until the next morning, and the drive isn’t horrible from Thunder Valley to the Texas Motorplex in Ennis. Plus, there is the World’s Largest Summit Racing Equipment store on the way and it’s full of great parts to fix most anything.

Between Summit and the Motion Raceworks trailer full of parts, there was no shortage of new stuff going on hot rods Sunday night.

Here is the video description:

FREE LIVE BRACKET RACING: The BTE Labor Day $250K Is On! The Richest Footbrake Purse In History!

FREE LIVE BRACKET RACING: The BTE Labor Day $250K Is On! The Richest Footbrake Purse In History!

It’s on like Donkey Kong this weekend, with big payouts at the Yellow Bullet Nationals and here at the BTE Labor Day $250K. Whether you like heads-up drag racing or the ultra-tight margins of victory you see at the big money bracket races, you’ll have plenty to watch this weekend. Right here, all weekend long, you’ll get to see some of the baddest bracket racers in the country ripping it up on the strip at Bristol’s Thunder Valley in search of the big money. And as the title says, there are no trans brakes or delay boxes here, this is all footbrake racing and that means tons of great door car action.

We’re excited to see just how all this pans out, but are just as excited to see a purse this big for footbrake racers. Last year’s race was worth $100k, and they stepped it up in a REALLY big way this year by going all the way to $250K. Man, this is going to be fun to watch.

Mud Fest Truck Photos Are Right Here! Our Event Coverage Continues

Mud Fest Truck Photos Are Right Here! Our Event Coverage Continues

Here is the third gallery of photos from Charles’ adventures at the McLennan County Mud Fest, so check them out. And if you missed the first two galleries, then use the link below to check all the photos out.

(Words and Photos by Charles Wickam) I’ve been around the Bangshift guys for quite a while and have come to learn what Chad and Brian like and dislike pretty well. Yeah they both love drag racing, but I want to go out on a limb and say their #2 favorite involves trucks, Brian he is a huge fan of monster trucks while Chad will profess his love of baja style trophy trucks and prerunners, now me I love what you get when you combine the two, MEGA TRUCKS! Part monster truck, part trophy truck. Now you may say a Mega Truck is nothing but a monster truck with smaller tires, well you are right to a certain extent. Today’s mega trucks are getting lower centers of gravity and insane amounts of wheel travel like you would see in the off-road racing rigs with the ability to soak up bumps, pitch it into corners, and not give a second thought of tipping over. Now I’ve gone down the youtube rabbit hole watching mega truck videos but this is my first time seeing these beasts in person, trucks like Wicked 55, Psychotic, Rednecks with Paychecks, and Screamin Demon just to name a few. These guys are not afraid to wheel their trucks and put on a show and they did that very thing running a timed course to see who was the fastest of the fast.

But not to be outdone by the mega trucks there were a number of 2 and 4 wheel drive rails and trucks in side-by-side action over the 200-foot mud course they cover in just a few seconds. They came from all over Texas and whats crazy is I knew nothing of this event until Friday afternoon when I saw a few trucks traveling north on I-35 passing by where I work. With some quick googling I found out this event was being held just under an hour from where I currently live, a quick text to Chad with the event flyer I found and I got a text back with 3 simple words … I hate you … LOL, you see Chad had to leave town for an event and Brian was up in the suburbs of Canada covering an event as well so I took one for the team and with just my new mega badass cell phone I was able to capture all the images you see, nope no fancy camera gear, just a phone. So check out the pics say you hate me too cause you didn’t go and make plans to attend next year’s McLennan County Mud Fest in the sleepy little town of Riesel Texas.

Until then, check out the photos below.

Bonneville Speed Week 2021: Photos From The Salt Just Keep Coming!

(Photos by Wes Allison) There will be a couple more galleries over the next few days, along with some special galleries we wanted to share as well. So here is the next gallery! Muscle cars, roadsters, streamliners, lakesters, and so much more, all on the salt looking to set records and put their name in the book. With so many classes, and so many different engine combos, there is more variety at Bonneville than you will find at any other event in the world. It’s huge, it’s awesome, and nobody should pass up the opportunity to be there at least once. Check out another great gallery of photos below and if you missed any of our previous photos then use the link below.

We’ve got all the photo coverage you have come to expect from Bonneville Speed Week here at BANGshift.com. For the past 10 years, we’ve been providing you with more photos from the salt than anyone else, and we are not going to stop now. The number of photos shot today alone is staggering, but we’ll make sure you get to see them all through the coming week as we bring you at least one gallery per day, and some days even more! And if you missed any of our previous galleries, just CLICK THE LINK BELOW and you’ll be able to see them all.

This is a magical time of year, as my friend Keith Turk would say, and since he’s got more 200 mph club memberships than anyone else on Earth, I think he’s a pretty spectacular judge. Don’t you? And since I have been the first car down the long course at Bonneville, just after sunrise on a particularly beautiful Sunday morning, I can tell you that there is no place like it and that’s a good thing. Bonneville is a party, a race, a history lesson, a family reunion, and so much more. It pains me to say that I am not going to be on the salt this year, but with everything going on we thought it smart to just send one guy and keep things simple. You know, like all the years I covered Bonneville all by myself for a week. Only with a better photographer, because Wes Allison is a badass. And we can’t wait to see everything he captures from the SCTA/BNI Speed Week at Bonneville!

We already posted a gallery from last nights Nugget Car Show kickoff party and we’ll have more and more galleries coming throughout the week. We will likely be running more than one gallery per day for the first few days at least, just like you have come to expect from us. We’ll have on track, in the pits, and car show photos from the entire event.

This year promises to be an amazing year at Bonneville with all kinds of new cars making their debut and some old cars coming back out for the first time in years. Plus, the piston engine and wheel-driven all-time records are being aimed at with everything people can throw at them this year. We’ll see how the salt is, but we’re hoping for some big things this year at Bonneville. Who will come out on top as the fastest of Bonneville? Who will take home the famed Hot Rod Trophy? George Poteet wants his name on it again. But so do all the Team Vesco gang! So who’s going to be the top dog? We’ll just have to see how the week pans out.

As we say, this is our first gallery of photos from the salt and we’ll have tons of them coming throughout the week as Wes shoots everything he can point a camera at.

RockyNats 2021 Video: Burnouts, Rev Limiters, Cruises And More. And That’s Just Day One!

RockyNats 2021 Video: Burnouts, Rev Limiters, Cruises And More. And That’s Just Day One!

The Aussies sure know how to have a good time, and RockyNats proves it. Like most of their big shows, there is tons of car show going on, lots of cruising, and epic burnouts happening each and every day of the event! This video is from Day One of the RockyNats and is brought to us by our friends at Street Machine TV. If you aren’t familiar with RockyNats, that’s okay as it is SuperNats but brought to Central Queensland in Australia. Check out the cool cars, and amazing burnouts. The talent to keep the car inside the barriers without running into them, all while moving around the pit like a champ, is what makes them better at this than anyone else.

And the engine combos are awesome. I used to wonder why anyone would need such big power to do burnouts like this, but now I know. It’s because the pit is so full of rubber, and with so much laid down on the ground, that it can get hard to spin the tires. All the marbles also make it hard to hold the car in one place sometimes, so the combo just makes it more of a challenge than you might think.

Holley Intergalactic Ford Fest 2020: Welcome To The Blue Oval’s Burndown!

Holley Intergalactic Ford Fest 2020: Welcome To The Blue Oval’s Burndown!

LS Fest came and went. MoParty had it’s first showing. That means that it’s time for Mustangs, for Cobras, for Broncos, and every other thing that wears the legacy of Henry Ford on it’s sleeve. Holley’s Ford Fest is on and going strong in Kentucky, and we’re on hand to take care of things. Chad is doing what Chad does best, which is to entertain crowds in the circle pit with his infectious delivery, and I’m running around shooting photos in-between trips to the swap meet to look for parts for two Mustangs that keep pestering me for attention. And it’s a good thing that the swap meet was there, because parts are comin’ home with me! But enough about that, you’re probably just here to see what was going on at the show. Well, I don’t blame you one bit. Only in it’s second year, the Intergalactic Ford Fest is proving once again to be wildly popular. You don’t suppose that it’s because Bigfoot V, the behemoth with the 10-foot-tall tires on it, was around and about, do you?

We’ve got plenty of photos coming, so just stay tuned…there’s lots of good stuff to come!

Be sure to click on a photo below to check out the first gallery from the 2020 Ford Fest!
